Background Of Study

Since 1981, when the Nigerian Medical Association conducted a meeting in Calabar and Dr. E.M Umez Sroums gave aa presentation on "National health insurance" A realistic approach to health care finance in a developing country, the Nigerian government has had a national health insurance programme. According to what he said, there has been an increasing demand for a national health insurance programme in Nigeria. This issue has attracted the attention of medical physicians, insurance executives, the federal government of Nigeria, and Nigerian newspapers, all of which have run at least one member of headlines on the subject (Cockerham, 2021).

However, the plan is now a functioning part of the world. On June 6, 2005, the plan was officially introduced by the federal government. The purpose of this health insurance scheme is to provide insured persons and their dependents with the benefit of prescribed good quality and cost effective health services in accordance with the provisions of this Decree. The scheme will be based on the establishment of the scheme, which will serve as the basis (Dienye, Bisibe, Eke, 2022). This was decreed in the year 2000. The following members make up the body responsible for the management of the scheme:

a governing body that is bound to be subject to the decree and that has overall authority over the programme. The following individuals will make up the council's membership:

The chief executive officer is responsible for making the appointment of the chairman. Deputy Minister of Health and Acting Commander in Chief (Eboh, 2022). Others include each person who will represent the Ministry of Health, their fiancé, the Government of the Federation, the Nigerian Labor Congress, the Nigerian Employers' Consultative Association, and private health care providers who will carry out research on this topic in order to highlight the problems that are militating against the scheme or the problems that the scheme will face. Its potential, and give suggestions that may help the project to be successful here in Nigeria (Eboh, 2022).
